Kiki Guerin creates a beautiful version of the Catholic scapular, a necklace with religious symbols on each side — one worn over the chest, one over the back. Also used by some Lutherans and Anglicans, they are a reminder of the Christian principles that guide the believer’s life. The Brazilian artist sets this one with a circle of natural malachite as well as a sterling silver medallion bearing the sign of Taurus. The reverse side reveals a triangle, the symbol for the element, earth.
